For 7 years now the first Russian-language theater in the GCC Melpomene has been holding a successful theater festival “Theater Spring in Dubai”. During this time, the festival was visited by more than 5,000 art connoisseurs, who saw more than 30 full-fledged performances. The productions were applauded at the largest Dubai venues: Mall of Emirates, Junction, Dubai parks and resorts, Emirates theater, Dubai College, Dubai Performing Arts Academy.

In general, our graduates performed more than 60 plays. We are proud of each of the 258 actors who completed the courses and perform in our theater. An authoritative jury visits the performances to present awards in 12 categories. This year the festival program includes 3-4 theater venues, including the Dubai Performing Arts Academy, Dubai College and Emirates School, where 9 performances will be shown.

Every year we are visited by playwrights – the authors of plays attend the premiere performances of their plays. In particular, in 2023 the festival was visited by Tomaso Pagonis and Valentin Krasnogorov. The play “Moralite” received a world premiere, the production of which was highly praised by the author from the stage.

2023 was also marked by the fact that Russian-language theater became closer to English-speaking audiences – performances were accompanied by English subtitles. The festival was attended by advisors and staff from the office of His Highness Sheikh Majid Rashid Al Mualla, as well as representatives of the national diasporas living in Dubai.
