The Moscow Gastronomic Week festival took place in Dubai from December 2 to 9. This event has been orgazinesed in line of the official program by the Government of Moscow at Expo 2002 Dubai promoting Russian capital as candidate for Expo 2030.
For seven days, the Gastronimic Week covered seven well-known restaurants in Dubai: OSH, Z Room, ZOR, Ketch up, DA by CrabChic, Chalet Berezka and L’ETO. Their menu included interpretations of classic Russian recipes: Olivier (Russian salad) with poultry and crayfish necks, crab aspic, cold borsch, kulebyaka with salmon, pike-perch babka with crayfish sauce and Pozharskaya cutlets. For dessert – porcini mushroom cheesecake. Each restaurant chose 2-3 items from the festival menu.

However, not only the menu was outstanding but also guest chefs. Maxim Tarusin, the chef behind grand-café Dr. Zhivago in Moscow which was recommended by Michelin International Guide in 2021, and Evgeny Vikentyev, the youngest chef in the Moscow to receive a star from the famous guide, became gastronomic directors of the Moscow gastronomy festival.
While Gastronomic week has lasted till December 9th, the Festival taking place till December 20 in Dubai. In addition to the gastronomic festival, there are other events in the program. The Russian capital presents concerts, theatrical performances, film screenings, art projects and much more. Maxim Tarusin is one of the most famous Russian chefs. He has been in the profession for more than 25 years, has trained in the kitchens of restaurants from the USA to China, and has also studied at Alain Ducasse’s Center (France). He is known for his ability to work with Russian products and his special love for old Russian recipes, which he adapts to a modern way. Today Maxim is the head of the kitchen of the restaurant Voskhod. He received the title “Chef Legend 2021” at the first all-Russian award “Chef of the Year”.

Evgeny Vikentyev is one of the brightest representatives of the new wave of Russian chefs. He trained at the best restaurants in Spain and Italy: in the kitchens of 41 Degrees of the famous Albert Adria and Michelin’s Il Vescovado in Noli. He participated in important gastronomic festivals, such as Piexe em Lisboa (Portugal), Russian Gastronomic Seasons (Monaco), Chefs Days (Austria) and many others. Today Evgeny heads the kitchen of Beluga, a Russian delicatessen restaurant.
