The award-winning online destination for men’s style Mr Porter, has partnered with Bovet to launch an exclusive Monsieur Bovet Hand-Wound Watch. Limited to only 10 pieces and exclusively made for Mr Porter, Bovet’s highly skilled watchmakers have handengraved tattoo inspired designs around the white-gold case, telling a story of travel, with stars, moons, waves, clouds, and suns.

It took Bovet five years to finesse the Virtuoso II movement, and seven years to execute the Amadeo convertible case, which together allow this reversible timepiece to have a coaxial display, and function also as a pocket watch and table clock. This is no mean feat, timekeeping seconds on either side with the same movement involves engineering so that the reverse counterintuitively turns clockwise, too. Housing the movement, this watch is crafted from 18-karat white gold in the ‘Fleurier’ silhouette, originally modelled after the heritage brand’s archival pocket watches, and is hand-decorated either side with classical acanthus and traditional Swiss movement finishes.

Bovet was founded in 1822 and grew to greatness with its artistic pocket watches. Today the storied house is noted by collectors for its seven-day tourbillons, meticulous engravings and dials featuring miniature paintings inspired by Fleurier, the Swiss region it calls home.
