This summer will see the number of destinations on flydubai’s network reach 79 points in 46 countries. In addition to its seasonal offerings, flydubai offers passengers a variety of popular leisure destinations that reflects the diversity of its network. For those seeking a city break, flydubai offers passengers the chance to explore a range of cities rich in culture, heritage and activities such as Baku, Bucharest, Istanbul, Minsk, Tbilisi, Tirana and Yerevan.

flydubai recently announced that it will be operating seasonal flights to Bodrum (BJV) and Trabzon(TZX) in Turkey as well as Batumi (BUS) in Georgia. The carrier is set to restart its seasonal operations to Tivat International Airport (TIV) in Montenegro from 25 June, offering passengers more choice to travel to popular destinations this summer.

Along with city breaks, the summer season is the ideal time to escape to the beach. flydubai’s flights to Colombo, Maldives and Zanzibar give passengers the opportunity to experience some of the best beaches and tropical hotspots in the world.

1. Bodrum, Turkey

Bodrum is the dreamland of those who answer as “yes” the question “Would you like to go on a holiday after work every day?”. Some live a modest, peaceful and quiet life, some live crazily madly. Bodrum is a White that bears all colors and also internalizes them. It rains different here and also the sun rise different and sets completely different. Wind blows different, sea smells else.

Flights to Bodrum, the main gateway to the Turkish Riviera, will operate twice a week from 04 June until 01 September.

Flight Details:  flights from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB) to Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays from 04 June to 01 September.

2. Trabzon, Turkey

Trabzon is one of the major cities of Turkey and the biggest one in the Eastern Black Sea region. Due to the rainy climate even in the summer months, it has lots of green forests and mountains with many rivers and highlands. There are major roads connecting Trabzon to other cities, a big harbor for international shipping traffic in the Black Sea, and an international airport. The city is famous for its fish, football (soccer) team, and the Sumela Monastery.

Trabzon, a popular city on the Black Sea coast of northeastern Turkey, will be served with three weekly flights from 13 May until 01 September.

Flight Details:  flights from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB) to Trabzon Airport (TZX) will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 13 May to 01 September.

 3. Batumi, Georgia

Batumi offers passengers wishing to travel this summer a perfect escape with popular seaside resorts, beautiful mountain vistas and a mild climate. Known as the ‘Pearl of the Black Sea’, Batumi is the second largest city in Georgia, located in the country’s southwest region. Batumi is a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, restaurants, cafés, dancing fountains and its popular Ferris Wheel.

flydubai, has added Batumi to its seasonal summer schedule. The carrier, which currently operates to Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) in Georgia, will also operate a three times weekly service to Batumi International Airport (BUS) from 12 May until 01 September.

Flight Details:  Flights from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB) to Batumi International Airport (BUS) will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 12 May to 01 September.

4. Tivat, Montenegro

Located in the Bay of Kotor in southwest Montenegro, this charming coastal town with its newly redeveloped first-class marina is one of the sunniest places in the region, attracting flocks of tourists from around the globe each year. Explore Tivat known for its state-of-the-art luxury marina Porto Montenegro and its neighbouring coastal towns of Kotor, Perast and Risan, all of which are located in the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest natural harbour in the eastern Mediterranean.

Flight Details:  flydubai operates seasonal summer routes between Dubai and Tivat from 25 June 2021 till September 2021.

5. Tirana, Albania

Tirana, Albania’s capital, offers visitors a wide range of heritage and cultural sights including several museums.  In addition, Albania is well known for its castles and UNESCO World Heritage sites.  Its nature parks and mountains, rivers and lakes, and thermal waters attract visitors looking for outdoor activities and adventures.

flydubai serves this route with twice weekly flights, on Thursdays and Sundays. With the introduction of the new service, flydubai is the first airline to provide direct airlinks from the United Arab Emirates to Albania.

Flight Details:  Flights from Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB) to Tirana International Airport (TIA) will operate on Thursdays and Sundays and the service commences from 28 March.

6. Zanzibar, Tanzania

Tanzania is a country renowned for its natural beauty and its extraordinary wildlife. Dar es Salaam is Tanzania’s economic hub and offers a picturesque seaport and a wealth of cultural and historic attractions. Known as the Spice Island, Zanzibar is encapsulated by white sandy beaches and is bursting with culture, history and endemic wildlife. In addition, the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro welcome tourists for hiking and mountaineering all year round.

flydubai operates two flights a week between Dubai and Zanzibar via Dar Es Salaam.

Flight Details:  Wednesdays and Sundays: FZ671 is scheduled to depart Dubai International (DXB), arriving into Zanzibar Airport  with a one-hour stopover in Dar es Salaam. FZ672 is scheduled to depart Zanzibar Airport, landing at Dubai International (DXB) with a one-hour stopover in Dar Es Salaam.

 7. Colombo, Sri Lanka

Street bazaars, malls, temples and colonial Dutch, Portuguese and British buildings jostle for space in this colourful capital, all evidence of its vibrant mix of cultures and bustling atmosphere. It’s a fascinating place for a break or to begin your Sri Lankan journey. The first things that come to mind when you think of this beautiful country are probably the endless golden sandy beaches, luscious greenery, great tea, roaming elephants and ancient ruins. But it’s also the perfect place for a round of golf, and well worth checking out if you fancy spending your next holiday working on your handicap.

Flights to Colombo start from 17 February as the authorities in Sri Lanka ease travel restrictions for international travel. The carrier will operate flights between Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB) and Colombo International Airport (CMB).

Flight Details:  flights from Dubai International (DXB) to Colombo International Airport (CMB) will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays and the service commences from 17 February.

 8. Sofia, Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s landscape and location give this Balkan nation a distinct advantage over some of its neighbours. The country’s east boasts long sandy beaches along the Black Sea with several popular summer resorts. Varna and Burgas are considered Bulgaria’s busiest beach destinations in the summer.

Sofia may be deep rooted in history, but there’s a thriving contemporary cultural scene here, too. Sofia Opera and Ballet offers a taste of it – head to the venue to watch a world-class performance. Make your way to National Gallery Quadrant 500 to see thousands of paintings from both the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the works you can spot sketches from the likes of Renoir and Matisse. The City Art Gallery is also worth a stop to see some of the country’s best contemporary art hung upon the walls.

flydubai will operate two flights a week between Dubai and Sofia. Flights operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Flight Details:  FZ757 departs Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB), arriving at Sofia Airport. FZ758 departs Sofia Airport, landing in Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB).

 9. Tel Aviv, Israel

The metropolis on the coast of the Mediterranean is fun-loving and lively with largely unsung beaches and glistening skyscrapers. The city’s art and culture shine through its museums and music. Tel Aviv is also known as Mediterranean Manhattan and a city that never sleeps. To see more of Israel’s beauty, take a day trip out to the Dead Sea, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. If you prefer staying and exploring Tel Aviv, taking an Urban City Tour can be a great idea as well.

Israel is one of the most dynamic countries of the Middle East, located along the Mediterranean Sea.  10. Minsk, Belarus

Belarus is strategically located between Lithuania, Poland and Russia with Minsk as its capital. The city attracts tourists with its rich history and beautiful landscapes which serve as the perfect backdrop for adventure travel and outdoors activities.  Minsk is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The capital-to-be of the Republic of Belarus was first mentioned in the historical chronicle in 1067. At that time, Grand Princes of Kiev Iziaslav, Svyatoslav and Vsevolod, the grandsons of Princess Rogneda of Polotsk, the sons of Yaroslav the Wise, joined their forces and attacked the city of Menesk to retaliate for the campaign of Prince Vseslav of Polotsk, who besieged Pskov in 1065. They seized the fortress of Menesk and defeated Vseslav’s army in the memorable Battle of Nemiga described in the Tale of Igor’s Campaign.

flydubai launches flights to Minsk, the capital of Belarus becoming the first Dubai-based airline to offer direct flights on this route from 20 February 2021.
