During the EXPO 2020 holds in Dubai till 31 March 2022 Bulgaria presents a line-up of events aimed to promote its cultural and tourism potential at the international platform. The virtuoso Bulgarian pianist Georgi Cherkin took part in this programme of Bulgarian Pavilion at Expo 2020 brought to Dubai this November (14-16) an impressive composition by Pancho Vladigerov and his grandfather – Georgi Zlatev – Cherkin, as well as the music of world composers such as Brahms and Debussy.

Georgi Cherkin has performed in many prestigious concert halls, such as the Auditorio in Rome, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Convention Center in Okinawa, Kaufmann Concert Hall in New York, and Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels. Georgi Cherkin is a winner of prestigious awards such as the “Crystal lyre” and the “Golden age” for his great contribution to the Bulgarian culture and art.

He is a laureate of many international and local competitions such as “Albert Russel”, “Young musical talents”, “Music and Earth”, etc. His music repertoire consists of over 25 piano concertos, different in style.

Bulgarian national pavilion operates at EXPO 2020 Dubai, where broad international public is presented with scientific and economic achievements of the country during the recent years, cultural heritage and tourism potential, as well as the development plan and investment opportunities of the country.  The world exhibition EXPO 2020 Dubai is going to receive 25 million visitors from all over the world during work period in spite of the restrictions caused by the pandemic.
