Prodigiously,  because  for  this  plunge  into the meanders of the  unconscious, where  olfactory  memories  are  stored  and constructed, Daphné Bugey only had to make 33 attempts, instead of the usual thousands. A record that appears in gold letters on the bottle, as it does at  every stage of this Botanical journey.

Now close your eyes and inhale the soothing breath of eucalyptus, softened by rose, in a calm dialogue with comforting cashmeran. Serene, you can continue your exploration. Although buoyed by this initial sensation, you sense that a more subtle ingredient is calling you. Intrigued, you delve deeper and encounter a treasure: ambergris. Revered as the “gold of the seas” by ancient sailors, this extraordinary substance remains a genuine marvel, imparting the brilliance that was only spoken of in hushed tones.

Entitled 33 for the number of attempts that led to the completion of the winner of Fragrance Foundation’s Best Niche Fragrance 2023, Daphné Bugey’s 7th scent in the collection exists in an abyss that awakens only after dusk. At the heart lies hidden treasures: soothing eucalyptus, soft rose and a smooth, woody scent.

For many, the mission accomplished in this way would be sufficient. Not so here. For the founder of L’Artisan Parfumeur, if the packaging cannot outshine the contents, it must at the very least translate it with elegance and fidelity. L’Artisan Parfumeur has called on the talents of illustrator Katie Scott to adorn the La Botanique collection. Her meticulous brushstrokes conjure up a veritable cabinet of curiosities, an oblique nobility with an assertive plant kingdom, full of strange details and dreamlike references.
