How microneedle works?
Microneedles work by encouraging your skin to produce more collagen. The idea is that by doing small pinpricks you are causing a damage to the skin and skin responds by making more collagen rich tissue, therefore skin becomes more soft, smooth and even tone and texture.
What is the difference between microneedling Mesotherapy and injections Mesotherapy? What to choose?
The difference between microneedle mesotherapy and injected mesotherapy is that with injections you use single needle to make multiple punctures into the lower layers of the skin where you want to deliver the powerful coctail of vitamins, rather with microneedling devices is gently moves multiple microscopic needles over the face to cause miniscule puncture marks, and by doing so the production of collagen and elastin is activated.
How to choose which one – I usually ask my clients if they have some upcoming event same day or the next couple of days and if they do, I am choosing single needle, as with microneedling needs a few days of recovery.
What are the differences in microneedling devices?
There are numerous microneedling devices on the market like rollers, stamps, dermapens, radio-frequency microneedling, ect. One of the most important features of automated microneedling devices is the adjustable needle and the depth of penetration. As well, it depends on the problem client wants to treat – if its the scars wants to be treated or it is for rejuvenation, fine lines and wrinkles. Also, the differences are in the way the skin is punctured. With radio-frequency devices, for example, when needles go into the skin, radio-frequency is delivered at the same time, and that is a powerful collagen and elastin response from the body.
How many sessions of microneedling will patient need to see maximum results and how many months will it be lasting?
How many sessions is needed for max results – this a question I have been asked often. First, it depends on the problem which needs to be treated, second it depends on the chosen device – is it a derma-roller, dermapen, RF microneedling, or simple mesotherapy with needle. But let’s say it’s for Rejuvenation with Dermapen – then 4-5 sessions done twice a month and maintaining it every 2-3 months. Maintenance is very important, as our skin to preserve younger, needs to be encouraged to produce collagen and elastin. It’s like an exercise for the skin, I like to say. And how long the results will last, depends on the client’s lifestyle choices. Is it a smoker or drinker, is it a heavy exerciser, is it sun-lover, as the sun breaks down our collagen very fast. There are many factors involved. So, no one can tell you, that when you do 5 sessions of whatever you have chosen, they will last for the next 6 months. For some time your skin will be great, but if you don’t maintain, will start getting dull again. I also like to give my clients example with the flower – if you don’t water it, it dies. And if you water it too much, dies again. Everything in moderation is the key for having a good, younger looking skin.
