The Guerlain House, demonstrating more commitment than ever to preserving bees. Ever since they first landed on Guerlain’s iconic Bee Bottle in 1853, bees have continued to inspire Guerlain with the same infinite passion that galvanized Guerlain’s founder.

Véronique Courtois, CEO of Guerlain: «As environmental sentinels, bees have naturally become for us one of the most precious wonders of Nature currently in need of protection. Today, they are under grave threat».

That’s why between the 20th and 22nd of May, which are symbolically World Bee Day and the International Day for Biological Diversity, Guerlain will be holding an international fund drive to raise up to one million euros in aid of the Guerlain For Bees Conservation Programme. Over three days, the House will donate 20% of its worldwide sales as well as 20 euros for every repost of its 20th May World Bee Day Instagram image which features the #GuerlainForBees and #WorldBeeDay campaign hashtags.

To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day. The goal is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators, which would significantly contribute to solving problems related to the global food supply and eliminate hunger in developing countries.

There are 20,000 wild bees all over the world and their flutter from flower to flower is crucial, not only for the reproduction of the plants but also to the food security of our planet. For ten years the cosmetics brand Guerlain, at the debut in 2010 of the line skicare Abeille Royale, agrees to protect them, know them and start awareness programs to prevent extinction. Among the latter, there is the partnership with the GoodPlanet Foundation, created by photographer and ecologist world-renowned Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
