Dubai’s legendary NYE celebrations are the highlight of the year. The Burj Khalifa area will be firework-free and you’d better make alternative plans. Here’s a guide to the best places to catch the spectacular show.
Atlantis The Palm
Is there a better way to view the fireworks than the source itself? Book yourself into the Atlantis resort. Club Vista Mare on Palm Jumeirah will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a stunning fireworks display and bottomless dining options across its seven restaurants from 8pm. The just-launched 11km boardwalk along the crescent of the manmade Palm Jumeirah will be the place to be on the Palm this NYE. Stretching all the way from the One&Only, The Palm to the other end, the walkway has numerous spots for visitors to watch the fireworks at Atlantis, as well as the Burj Al Arab.
NYE exclusive at Bulgari Resort
Celebrating their first New Year’s in Dubai, the Middle Eastern outpost of Bulgari’s luxury resorts is sparing no expense on festivities. While there is a selection of seated dinners on offer, couples can make the most of the Italian design house’s hospitality in its private spiaggia cabanas set on the shores of the Arabian Gulf. Inclusive of complete use of your own beach cabana, plus a set-menu dinner and Maserati limousine transfer service, you won’t find a more exclusive New Year’s soiree than this.
Burj Al Arab / Madinat Jumeirah
Dubai’s modern take on a traditional souk is located right next to the Burj Al Arab, with restaurants, lounges and plenty of open spaces from where you can take in the show. The sought-after spot offers panoramic views of the fireworks from the beach.
With the Burj Al Arab as its neighbour, Dubai’s beach stretch is unsurprisingly packed with NYE revellers. Of course, it’s best to get there early – pack a picnic basket and blanket and perhaps get there in time to catch the unmissable sunset before settling in for the night. Kite Beach has a variety of cafe-style eateries, including the ever-popular Salt for scrumptious sliders.
