Swarovski’s Fall/Winter 2020 Collection showcases the brand’s 125-year strong legacy of crystal craftsmanship

Swarovski celebrates 125 years of refined craftsmanship in 2020, creating jewelry and accessories that empower people around the world to look and feel glamorous, while expressing their own unique style. Building on its rich history, the Swarovski Fall/Winter 2020 (FW20) Collection tells the stories of two defining moments in the brand’s 125-year history, interlinked by the ever-present power of glamour. Fall seeks inspiration from the vibrant glamour and creativity of the 1970s, when Swarovski created its first crystal products, while Holiday is a nod to the refined royal glamour of 1895, the year Swarovski was born. Embodying the brand’s innovative spirit, the FW20 Collection is a creative expression of Swarovski’s inherent craftsmanship, crystal expertise and cutting-edge techniques.

For the Fall Collection, Swarovski has explored its archives to reinterpret iconic pieces from the past, as well as to design new, on-trend pieces. Influenced by the 1970s, Swarovski seeks to empower people with a collection designed to encourage the self-expression and originality associated with this decade. This era also marked an important turning point for Swarovski; when the brand introduced its first crystal figurine in 1976, it kick-started a new product-focused era that led to the creation of its first jewelry collections. Throughout the Fall Collection, versatile earth tones meet vibrant pops of color, while bold silhouettes are infused with refined Swarovski crystal detailing.

Swarovski sparks delight and delivers a diverse portfolio of unmatched quality, craftsmanship and creativity. Founded in 1895 in Austria, the company designs, manufactures and sells the world’s highest quality crystal, genuine gemstones, Swarovski Created Diamonds and zirconia, finished products such as jewelry and accessories, as well as interior design and lighting solutions. Now celebrating its 125th anniversary and run by the fifth generation of family members, the Swarovski Crystal Business has a global reach approximately 3,000 stores in around 170 countries, more than 29,000 employees, and revenue of about 2.7 billion euros in 2018.

When Daniel Swarovski founded the brand in 1895, he laid a strong foundation through his passion and his innovative, pioneering mindset. This heritage and legacy has seen the brand evolve over the last 125 years, bringing sparkle to the world by combining avant-garde design with the world’s finest craftsmanship.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of Swarovski, and over the last two decades the brand has rewritten the rules of fashion-led watch design through its sophisticated series of timepieces. In 2009, the visionary D:Light watch combined innovative digital technology with 171 Xilion-cut Swarovski crystals, which lit up to tell the time. Then, in 2016, the Crystalline Oval line sought to maximize glamour with a case filled with over 1700 Swarovski crystals.

Today, Swarovski draws on its extensive expertise and craftsmanship to create sparkling timepieces for modern life. The Fall/Winter 2020 Collection features Swiss-made watches that are the epitome of precision and elegance, they marry form and function and inject sparkle and glamour into any look or occasion. To celebrate this year’s milestone, selected timepieces have received the Swarovski signature blue treatment, including the coveted Octea Lux Chrono watch, making them brilliant keepsakes and gifts for loved ones – or for yourself.

This Collection is a vivid signal of the brand’s future ambition. It captures the essence and creativity of the Swarovski DNA with lines such as the Crystalline Chic and Crystalline Sporty that exude high-shine appeal. It is also a testament to the world-class craftsmanship and expertise of the Swarovski artisans who created styles such as the faceted Swarovski crystal case of Uptown.
