SushiSamba Dubai. It’s time to try something new

Internationally acclaimed restaurant SushiSamba, in partnership with Sunset Hospitality Group, will open its first-ever Middle East location in Dubai this November. Located on the 51st floor of Palm Tower, SushiSamba Dubai will merge dynamic interiors with unrivaled hospitality and mouth-watering signature fare to create an unforgettable dining experience that has become a hallmark of the brand. Known for its unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture and cuisine as well as its passion for music, art, and design, the highly anticipated Dubai restaurant will represent the globally acclaimed brand’s latest international location, bringing with it a new, elevated SushiSamba experience inspired by the refined glamour of Dubai.

Located on the 51st floor of Palm Tower, 230 meters atop the iconic Palm Jumeirah, SushiSamba Dubai will offer unobstructed, 360-degree views of the Palm Jumeirah coastline, the Arabian Gulf, Ain Dubai, and the Dubai skyline. Home to some of Dubai’s most luxurious hotels and resorts, sophisticated malls, striking beaches, and premium residences, Palm Jumeirah is widely recognized for being one of the most exclusive addresses in the world. The opening of SushiSamba Dubai, the highest restaurant on the Palm Jumeirah, coincides with the iconic man-made island’s 20th anniversary, marking the arrival of an exclusive new era of dining in Dubai.

Designed by award-winning New York-based architects ICrave, the interior of SushiSamba Dubai will reflect the spirit of Japan, Brazil and Peru, embracing bold architectural gestures and graphics to create an iconic destination that offers bespoke day and night dining experiences. Designed to be an oasis in the sky, the 12,000 sq ft. space offers 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows that capitalize on the restaurant’s unique 51st floor location; offering breathtaking views of the city all around.

SushiSamba Dubai will present a host of inviting, multi-dimensional and multi-sensory dining experiences, immersing guests on a journey through Japan, Brazil and Peru from the minute they enter the space. The restaurant’s bar and lounge area, which pays tribute to the aesthetic and cultural sensibilities of Japan, presents an expression of balance and proportion, merging nuanced details and natural materials with influences of geometry and nature to create a relaxed yet intimate setting. A DJ booth, featuring a live DJ, will further elevate the setting with tunes and beats that complement the dynamic essence of SushiSamba Dubai.

The main dining area nests under the restaurant’s architecturally inspired, 3D printed bamboo ceiling which builds upon the drama introduced within the design of the lounge space. The immersive 3D printed ceiling installation that weaves its way through the space, not only connects different areas but also highlights and creates different zones. This ceiling feature is inspired by both Japanese and Brazilian woodwork and weaving traditions. It both feels modern and zen, as well as traditional and tropical. Bold and exuberant textiles and finishes, in warm, bright colors pay homage to the vibrant spirit of Brazil and Peru. A theatre-style open kitchen featuring a sushi counter and robata grill takes center stage in the dining room, whilst a unique Tsukiji Market accentuates the finesse of Japanese culinary traditions.

“Dubai is one of the most sophisticated cosmopolitan cities in the world,” says Chef Moon Kyung Soo, Culinary Director of SushiSamba Dubai. “It is a unique melting pot of cultures and traditions, and we have used this inspiration, along with the city’s inherent penchant for glamour to create a SushiSamba location that was as refined and dynamic as Dubai. SushiSamba Dubai will be an iconic experiential dining destination that will cater to the elevated tastes of the connoisseurs of Dubai.”

SushiSamba Dubai’s menu will showcase the brand’s culinary creativity which eloquently blends Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisines. SushiSamba’s famed culinary DNA is influenced by the Japanese Diaspora which took place in the early 20th century when Japanese people traveled to Brazil and Peru and brought together the three cultures and their culinary traditions.

Committed to providing the most authentic dining experience, the majority of the seafood and fish at SushiSamba Dubai will be flown in from Japan, including the Kinmedai, Amberjack, Hirame, Tuna amongst others to ensure the highest quality and freshest produce. Committed to supporting local businesses and sustainability, SushiSamba Dubai will source fresh, organic vegetables and produce from UAE-based farms.

Signature SushiSamba Dubai dishes on the menu will include the Crispy Hokkaido Scallop, Crispy Yellowtail Taquitos, Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef Gyoza, Pulpo Asado, Wagyu A4 Japanese Claypot, Seviche Platter and Peruvian Corn Salad. To commemorate the opening of its Dubai location, the most signature and iconic Samba roll, which is available in all SushiSamba venues worldwide, will be named Samba Dubai roll to pay tribute to the dynamic and colorful city we call home. The opulent and full of flavor roll comprises of fresh lobster, succulent mango, creamy avocado, delicate soy paper and decadent aji honey truffle; it is definitely every sushi aficionado’s dream come true.

“SushiSamba Dubai is one of our most ambitious projects. Bringing the brand to Dubai after its international success in London and Las Vegas, is a key milestone for Sunset Hospitality,” says Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of Sunset Hospitality Group. “This amazing concept blends Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian flavors, an excellent addition to Dubai’s dynamic dining scene. The innovative menu will feature delightful dishes that have been very popular, as well as new additions that share the same spirit. The gorgeous view is unique and is certain to be a highlight of the venue, the service will be unrivaled, and the theatrical setting will appeal to Dubai residents as much as tourists, making SushiSamba Dubai another Sunset destination where people can get together and celebrate life.”
