British menswear brand Orlebar Brown launches a new collection to transport you back to The Amalfi Coast in the mid-1970s. Inspired by Robert Redford’s casual-cool style, classic sportswear and vintage wooden yachts with billowing sails, the Cruise 19 collection is an homage to warm, halcyon days spent sailing. The sun-drenched palette encompasses sunflower yellow, espresso brown, blush red and admiral blue, setting an uplifting and relaxed tone for the collection.

Windbreaker and sporting stripes add a retro feel, while prints from renowned Italian print manufacturer Ratti offer playful baroque options and archived patterns from The Design Library have been revived through the Nerano, Lightening Stripe and Bolt designs used across swimwear and shirts. Four new photographic prints for the season include ‘Full Sail Ahead’, an exclusive photo taken for Orlebar Brown by photographer Anne Beaugé which shows yachts at sailing event ‘Les Voiles De St Tropez’.

The Standard swim shorts, which feature a half-elasticated waistband with external rope drawcord, are available in four new shades including sulphur yellow, tulip pink, fossil grey and dark papaya. The luxe Setter X is available in three shades of lustrous nylon with all the OB Classic details including side fasteners, while the Drawcord version offers a sportier aesthetic.

The new Bancroft shorts and Caldwell trousers are made from a breathable cotton-linen blend and have double pleats at the front for a more relaxed fit. Coordinating sweats feature a racing stripe on waistbands and cuffs, while others incorporate details usually reserved for smarter wear such as collars and a zip fly. Throughout the collection, there are several indigo wash pieces which give an authentically worn feel that will develop further character with wear.
