Jacob & Co. salutes the formation of the United Arab Emirates and celebrates its success with this Epic X Chrono UAE limited edition.
In 2019, Bugatti and Jacob & Co. signed a multi-year partnership to create unique, never-before-seen timepieces. These watches are true to the spirit of both companies, while taking watchmaking to impossible heights To inaugurate this partnership led by performance, two timepieces were created. These watches, based on the Twin Turbo Furious and the Epic X Chrono, were directly inspired by the unique design and spirit of Bugatti hypercars. This year, Jacob & Co. and Bugatti are introducing new watches in the Twin Turbo Furious collection, and the Bugatti Chiron, a completely new line.
On the back of the case, the UAE emblem is superimposed on the smoke sapphire crystal exhibition back. The UAE emblem is a golden falcon (the Hawk of Quraish) with the flag of the UAE in the middle, which is surrounded by seven stars representing the seven Emirates. In the hawk’s talons is a red parchment with the name of the federation written in Kufic script.
Jacob & Co. designed the Epic X to be the true sports watch in its collection. This timepiece is rough and ready, with built-in shock resistance, water resistance to 200 meters, and a high watchmaking, column-wheel chronograph movement. The bi-compax design features two chronograph subdials on the mineral crystal dial, which shows off the semi-skeletonized, finely finished automatic movement. An antireflective sapphire crystal protects it all, front and back. The 47mm 18K black DLC Grade 5 titanium case and lugs are offset by a bright white ceramic bezel, and the pushers and crowns are also fashioned from white ceramic. The colors of the UAE flag are proudly set into the center of the bold Epic X dial.
The UAE is an important region for Jacob & Co. The brand has a luxurious boutique in the Dubai Mall, and has been active here for many years. Last year, Jacob & Co. was named Independent Brand of the Year at the Middle East Watch and Jewellery of the Year Awards, and this year the brand won an additional two awards, one for Best Ladies’ Watch for the Fleurs de Jardin and one for Best Eastern Design Jewellery Piece with the Rare Touch Diamond Face Mask.
