Mr P., the own-label brand from Mr Porter, is pleased to introduce new leather-alternative sneakers to its footwear collection. Made from repurposed grape waste generated by the wine industry and with soles developed from recycled rubber, the new style debuts on Mr Porter in March. The classic Mr P. Larry Eco Edition sneakers, are reinvented using a raw vegetable bio-material; an environmentally-friendly alternative for Mr P. customers who are seeking to make more conscious choices about their wardrobe.
The new Eco Edition Larry sneakers boast:
- Uppers, tongue and collars made from Vega bio-material soft grape leather; crafted from byproducts (grape skins, stalks and seeds) from Italian wine production, with the quality, look and touch equivalent to conventional leather. However, unlike regular leather, no toxic solvents or heavy metals are involved in the production process.
- A lining made from onSteam® microfibre, which was specially developed to feel like skin. Crafted with 100 per cent recyclable polyester, the fabric is breathable and sweat-resistant with an absorption capacity of eight times its weight in water.
Mr P.’s commitment to craftsmanship, timeless style, quality and innovation continues to drive the brand forward. In November 2020, Mr P. debuted new pieces within its collection that were developed using specialist techniques and time-honoured construction methods from the finest mills and manufacturers – silk and cashmere knitwear woven in Scotland; footwear handcrafted in Northamptonshire and leather outerwear crafted in Florence. Each piece borne in the manner of luxury artistry with additional pieces launching this spring.
