An internationally renowned designer, one of Gurhan’s greatest pleasures is maintaining a personal connection with his clients. It is through these relationships that the designer gains an understanding of their tastes, preferences and lifestyles. With these women as his inspiration, Gurhan developed one of his most popular new collections, Pointelle.
“My clients have a multi-faceted lifestyle and don’t have time for a wardrobe change as they move from day into evening”, says designer. “For exactly this reason, Pointelle provides the perfect compliment.”
The collection is mainly gold and diamonds, and with Gurhan’s fresh perspective, it is like nothing before. The designs are bold, yet delicate. The silhouettes are light and airy, many with an open, negative-space design. There is a subtle elegance that allows a woman to look and feel polished whether she’s travelling through an airport of hosting a dinner party.
The collections include round, marquis and pear-shaped pendants and earrings with a cluster of diamonds or coloured stones. There are open designs and also solid, “filled in” versions that feature the brand’s well known hammered surface. There are a variety of cuffs and bangles, from the widest to the most delicate, and because every jewellery wardrobe includes multiple earrings, this cluster design is applied to hoops, chandeliers, huggies and one particular design that Gurhan describes as a cross between a stud and a crawler.
