Wearing shoes that have entered the history of costume is every fashion-forward woman’s dream. A feminine creation, perfect in style and detail, which goes beyond a mere accessory to become an object of design, almost on a par with a work of art. Salvatore Ferragamo is proud to announce the launch of the Ferragamo’s Creations collection in Dubai.

Originally introduced in 2006 for the concept store at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, the Ferragamo’s Creations collection is available at a selection of Ferragamo boutiques around the world and now available in Dubai in both Level Shoes and the Salvatore Ferragamo store in Dubai Mall. This line recreates Fiamma Ferragamo’s unique, best-selling creations; timeless models that strengthen the brand’s legacy and continue Salvatore Ferragamo’s work in perfect harmony with continuing developments (innovations) in fashion.

Salvatore Ferragamo has drawn on its exceptional archives – more than 15,000 pieces created over the course of eighty years, now stored in the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum at Palazzo Spini Feroni, Florence – to craft “Ferragamo’s Creations”. This exclusive collection brings back a series of the brand’s best-known historic designs, including some of its most iconic bags: a unique occasion to discover the great creative tradition of Salvatore Ferragamo, the innovative genius who revolutionised the world of women’s footwear with new models, shapes and materials.

The pieces are all numbered, limited-edition reproductions of historic shoe designs from the Museum as well as some of the brand’s iconic bags.  These  exquisite  designs  are  entirely  handcrafted using the original patterns, leathers and shapes: authentic fragments from the history of costume, distinguished by the historic Ferragamo label designed in 1930 by  the  futurist  painter  Lucio Venna. Highlighted by  their exclusive, luxurious packaging, they come complete with a  certificate  of authenticity describing their history and distinguishing features. The collection has already reproduced some of Ferragamo’s most iconic designs, including the “F” wedge sandal which earned Salvatore Ferragamo the Neiman Marcus prize – the Fashion “Oscar” – in 1947; the famous Orientalinspired sandal, Maharani, created by Salvatore Ferragamo for Indira Devi, Maharani of Cooch Behar, using precious gems which she supplied herself; the “Kimo” sandal, inspired by traditional Japanese footwear, complete with its own interchangeable ankle sock; the round-toed suede ballerina shoes created for Audrey Hepburn; and the legendary pumps worn  by  Marilyn Monroe in “Some Like it Hot”.

Ferragamo’s Creations also includes a series of bags and men’s shoes which epitomize the brand, all designed and made by its brilliant founder throughout the course of his long career. For this special occasion the line re-edits the “Volga” moccasin, in nabuk with cord trim, and the “Alf” espadrille, in woven raffia. The line also reworks selected items of clothing and knitwear, masterpieces from historic past collections, inspired by icon designs that have become an indelible signature trademark for the  world of Ferragamo. For the Spring Summer 2021 collection, the “Peonie” and “Girasoli” prints have been reissued.

The Ferragamo’s Creations line continues its extraordinary journey into the vast legacy of this Florentine fashion house’s archives with its designs for 2020/2021. This pays homage to elegance and casualness, uniqueness and bestsellers that have written the history of the  Ferragamo brandover time.

The bright colours of yellow, red, green and bluette are the undisputed stars of the collection, appearing in the multicolour Stripes (1938) and Fettuccina (1938) sandals. All the coolness of the summer is released by the canvas sandal Tester (2000) with fun leather accessory featuring a sunflower head. A special mention goes to the prints, on canvas the “Girasoli” design – for the Oxalia sandal (1950) and the Timpano shoe (1994) – and on  silk twill the “Peonie” design –  for the Audrey (1954) and Doris (1950) ballet shoes. Finally, the Formia sandal (1944), characterised by its oriental toe and elegant combination of colours … and for the evening, the two ultra-elegant pumps created by Salvatore Ferragamo for actress Anna Magnani, Anna (1955) and Ranina (1955), featuring distinctive shades of gold on the embroidery and sequins.

Day and evening bags recall historic and more recent models by the Maison. The rich range of colours is repeated on the classic 21/2193 top handle in brushed calfskin, the iconic bag which has become a veritable must-have. The Tester sandal can be matched with the 21/0302 top handle and the 21/0303 satchel, and in the “Peonie” print on silk with the 21/G901 top handle. The pumps are complemented by the bags in plexi – top handle 21/5262, clutch 21/5263 and satchel 21/5261 – with interchangeable pouches in gold nappa and black gros-grain.
