Award-winning French fashion institute ESMOD Dubai has announced some exciting new courses designed with the future of fashion in mind. Registration is now open for the exciting 3-month lingerie design program, which starts in February 2022.

Highly specialized and available exclusively at ESMOD Dubai, the program covers everything from pattern construction to the fabric cutting and sewing needed to make bras, panties, and bodysuits. Last year, an Abu Dhabi-based investment firm invested $25 million in Savage X Fenty, the lingerie company co-founded by megastar and business mogul Rihanna, a testament to the potential in the intimate underwear market.

Conducted by a seasoned Italian footwear designer and prototypist, the 4-month Footwear design program starts this week, and provides students with the specific theoretical, design, technical and practical skills needed to make a mark in this space. The in-depth course covers the whole spectrum with modules focusing on everything from concept and development to prototyping, branding, and merchandising. Students will also get the unique opportunity to create their protype in the designer’s atelier, eventually taking advantage of the access this program gives them to shape vendors, heel factories, metal accessory makers, tanneries, and manufacturers to further develop and produce their collection.

With virtual fashion design skills being in high demand in the fashion industry and today’s norm on employer’s checklists, ESMOD Dubai has integrated CLO 3D software learning as part of the holistic course 3-year fashion design undergraduate program curriculum kicking off on March 23rd and focusing on creative and technical design, to strengthen student’s competitiveness. This move once again reinforces ESMOD Dubai’s forward-thinking approach ensuring students remain professionally up to date.

“An ESMOD Dubai education offers added value ensuring students join the fashion industry evolution armed with technical and artistic expertise. CLO 3D is just one example of our fashion forward approach,” said Tamara Hostal, founder of ESMOD Dubai.

In fact, since its inception here in the UAE in 2006, ESMOD Dubai’s curated curriculum has nurtured creative individuality, developed aesthetic sense, and enhanced superior garment making skills of students from across in the region underscoring its reputation as the Middle East’s top fashion institute.

“Technology and cultural shifts have brought new changes to the teaching of fashion design courses and put forward new requirements. By paying close attention to the forefront of industry development and establishing a forward-looking teaching method, we have been able to give our students a head-start. From the immersive and curated course content that invites you to transform theory into practice, to the design software and world-class faculty, ESMOD Dubai is a cut above,” she added.

She cited some recent success stories as tangible evidence of the institute’s success and footprint. Recent fashion design graduate hired by Gucci in Rome, fashion styling graduate Angelica Bamby is now working with Harvey Nichols, whilst Nibal El Assad styled Prada’s latest collection in New York. Former ESMOD Dubai student Liliane Afshar’s bag was recently featured in the hit Netflix show Emily in Paris, a testament to the global stage that a degree from ESMOD Dubai can catapult one to!
