Shimmers at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam invites guests for a chic beachfront dining experience, showcasing a new menu, refreshed décor and the chance to unwind alongside the hotel’s pristine stretch of private beach.
Offering stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, the venue fuses its Greek culinary roots with all the atmospheric ingredients of a beachfacing hotspot. On arrival, guests will be transported to the Cyclades with a new white-washed colour palatte juxtaposed with vibrant greenery, setting the scene for breezy afternoons to unfold into stylish evenings with a live DJ set.
As one of Dubai’s best-loved al fresco experiences, Shimmers will highlight the fabulous flavours and unique character of Greek cuisine with a focus on the very best produce to be enjoyed alongside innovative cocktails and an extensive beverage list, served in a laidback atmosphere. Originally from the island of Crete, newly appointed Executive Chef Nikolas Bragoudakis has curated a menu that will transport diners to his homeland. Jumeirah Group’s Chief Culinary Officer, Michael Ellis, comments: “We are thrilled to have Chef Nikolas join our team. He brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the ingredients and flavours which make Greek cuisine one of the most popular in the world. The authentic ingredients incorporated into his dishes ensure a memorable experience at Shimmers as a dining destination.”
The new Shimmers menu will feature sharing classics such as Crispy Calamari and zingy Tzatziki – best enjoyed with the restaurant’s freshly-baked pita – as well as Chef’s signature dishes including Chicken Souvlaki, and Smoked Eggplant and Tuna Dip dotted with pomegranate seeds. Mains include the iconic dish Moussaka, Bekri Meze, a spicy lamb and beef chorizo stew, or Saganaki Obsidlue Prawns, prepared with tomato and feta sauce and a dash of Ouzo. The Josper grill is a key feature, offering cooked-to-order sharing dishes including a Grilled Rock Lobster ‘Langouste’ or Whole John Dory.
A nod to Greece is also offered in the dessert line-up, which now offers a Baked Vanilla Ice Cream in Almond Crust with lemon espuma and peach compote and Loukoumades, donuts served with cinnamon and honey walnuts. Welcoming guests again since October, Shimmers offers the perfect setting to dine al fresco this season.
