The final chapter of Byredo’s Mojave Ghost series is here: Mojave Ghost Absolu de Parfum. A rarefied, more concentrated expression of the iconic Mojave Ghost, this latest evolution exudes an aura of mystique and allure, enveloping the senses in an even deeper and more powerful form.

As part of an ongoing retrospective of Byredo’s most loved fragrances, Founder and Creative Director Ben Gorham revisits the strength and resilience of Mojave Ghost to mark the 10th anniversary of its launch. Originally released in 2014, the scent’s inimitable spirit is celebrated in a multipart campaign unveiled throughout the year, featuring model of the moment Amelia Gray, photographed by visionary talent Harley Weir. Presented in five distinct chapters, a continued dialogue between a single photographer and a single subject opens up an exploration of the fragrance from myriad angles.

Inspired by the beauty and resilience of the desert, Mojave Ghost Absolu captures the heart of the wilderness with amplified richness. Familiar notes of ambrette and Jamaican naseberry take on new intensity, softened by the elegance of sandalwood and velvety violet, while a hint of crisp magnolia adds a luminous finish. In this chapter, the composition finds its ultimate expression, refined yet powerful.

A compelling reinterpretation of Mojave Ghost’s iconic notes, the Absolu de Parfum embarks on a new journey, redolent with memories. Drawing back to elemental principles, foundational ingredients are extracted into a pure essence that compels with greater intensity. This celebration of olfactive artistry extends into a new iteration of the perfume bottle, with a striking textural cap inspired by the craft of traditional woodwork. Elongating the signature curved shape of the bottle, a new neck bridges the tactility of the burned wood cap with the sleek modernity of the glass vessel. Recalling the emotions of human touch, the cap opens to reveal an atomizer spray of antique gold and silver rings that conversely takes on more industrial leanings. This play on juxtapositions illustrates Byredo’s considered balance between contrasting elements, existing between the dual pillars of function and emotion.

  • Top: Ambrette Seeds, Jamaican Nesberry
  • Heart: Magnolia, Sandalwood, Violet
  • Base: Musk, Amber, Cedarwood

Housed in an exquisite new edition of the bottle, the design speaks to the essence of luxury -sleek, timeless, and evocative, symbolizing the grand finale of this scent journey. Mojave Ghost Absolu is not just another fragrance; it’s a statement, a collector’s piece for those who have followed the desert tale since its inception.

Opening up a new chapter in the brand’s portfolio of fragrances, Byredo presents an updated iteration of its iconic perfume bottle alongside the launch of the Absolu de Parfum series. Following the brand’s ethos of constant evolution, a celebration of olfactive artistry is reflected in the latest vessel design which salutes the tactility of human touch. Whilst preserving the round bottle in clear glass, the glossy modernism of the previous black cap is replaced by a textural lid that takes inspiration from traditional woodwork. The new design unites several singular expressions that define Byredo – the appreciation of nature that stems from Ben Gorham’s love of forests growing up in Canada and Sweden, and a visual identity where objects are cast as totemic artefacts, made to endure and to be treasured. Sitting upon an elongated bottle neck, the cap opens to reveal an atomiser spray of antique gold and silver rings that conversely takes on more industrial leanings. This is Byredo’s considered balance between savoir-faire and futuristic engineering, a signature play on contrasts that exists between the dual pillars of emotion and function.
