Giorgio Armani unveils a new interpretation of Acqua Di Giò Profondo, as an invitation to find adventure on a deeper level, and to discover the mysteries that lie beneath. With its new fresh intensity and its glow-in-the-dark bottle, Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights Limited Edition is a call to dive into the unknown, and to dare to embrace the unexpected. Where dark blue becomes enticingly deeper, there is more to explore than meets the eye, in discovering the way from the dark to the light.

Since its introduction in 1996, Acqua Di Giò has captured the very essence of water and man’s special connection to this element, conveying an authentic masculinity that transcends the trends of the moment. On the occasion of the introduction of Acqua Di Giò Profondo last year, Giorgio Armani unveiled a reinterpretation of the franchise’s iconic imagery, constantly featuring unique aesthetic codes: timeless black and white frames, powerful natural elements and a man uniting virility and grace. All codes that perfectly apply to its limited edition, Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights.

In this ever more cinematic opus, German fashion model Aleksandar Rusić, who perfectly embodies the essence of authentic masculinity, exudes a natural sensuality conveyed by every single frame. From his frantic race on Atacama Salt Flat Lagoons in Chile to his breathtaking plunge and his coming out of the water on the hidden beach of Isla Marietas, Mexico, his eyes look out beyond the ocean and his body is infused with light.

The bluesy vibe and the meaningful lyrics of the track ‘Way Down We Go’, by the Icelandic rock band Kaleo, and the hoarse yet refined voice of its lead singer Jökull Júlíusson contribute to the powerful intensity of the film and its sensual deep-dive sensation. Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights Limited Edition takes the original Acqua Di Giò Profondo olfactory signature and infuses it with a new life, to reveal an unexplored intensity.

This Fougère Aquatic Citrus fragrance captures the essence of a luminous halo as it pierces the mysterious darkness of the ocean, revealing the power of deep waters. Crafted by master perfumer Alberto Morillas (Firmenich), who has composed all the Acqua Di Giò fragrances, the fragrance unveils a new strength in chiaroscuro, created via a dazzling and explosive freshness that dives into the force of the ocean. These natural elements collide to highlight an instinctive, multifaceted masculinity.

The fragrance’s top notes are composed of luminous and juicy facets, as green mandarin essence meets the bright cardamom essence, then fuses with a powerful marine accord. At the heart, aromatic elements unite with the marine accord, expressed in notes of lavandin heart, rosemary essence, cypress essence, lentisk absolute and balsamic notes. The base dives deeper, as Acqua Di Giò’s original woody signature takes on a resinous power, a result of the natural strength of vetiver essence, together with patchouli Guatemala essence.

To reflect Giorgio Armani’s commitment to reducing the impact on the environment, the patchouli blended within Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights Limited Edition is sourced in Guatemala through the brand’s solidarity sourcing program, which promotes economic emancipation of local farming communities, preserves biodiversity, and ensures traceability of the ingredients. Meanwhile, the lavandin heart is sustainably sourced on the Albion plateau in Provence, France, and crafted exclusively for Giorgio Armani.

The natural sensuality of Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights Limited Edition is encapsulated in the iconic Acqua Di Giò glass bottle, which for this edition is designed with a unique photoluminescent effect. In a luxurious-feeling weighted glass, the bottle’s intense, graduated inky hue echoes the deep blue of the Acqua Di Giò Profondo bottle.  In Giorgio Armani’s own words: “Blue like a dense shadow that expresses sensuality. In its various nuances, it is a liquid color that gives a sense of fluidity and refined elegance”.

The Acqua Di Giò Profondo Lights Limited Edition bottle graduates from a deep blue tone at the neck, which then changes to a phosphorescent effect in the darkness, ending with a luminous halo of light at the bottle’s base. Unifying the bottle is the legendary Acqua Di Giò logotype, created in the striking turquoise-toned phosphorescent effect. The bottle’s navy blue metallic cap, meanwhile, is engraved with the Giorgio Armani monogram, while the silver-toned metal collar reflects light, to contrast with the depth of the bottle’s blue.
